Middleweight to Senior Web Developer

We are recruiting for an experienced web developer to join our dedicated team at Vertebrate Graphics in Sheffield. As a PHP developer you will be leading the development of a wide range of client projects. This role really requires someone who has experience working on a range of client projects including e-commerce.

To be successful for this Senior PHP Development role you must have:

Requirements

  • A strong understanding of PHP5 with proven experience
  • MySQL database design, configuration and performance tuning
  • Experience integrating front-end templates with back-end functionality.
  • Ability to research emerging technologies and identify possible applications.
  • Well-versed in, AJAX Web 2.0 and DHTML frameworks
  • Experience with Wordpress or other PHP based frameworks and/or CMS's
  • Good knowledge of Web Standards and user-oriented design
  • Must be experienced in designing and building scalable back-end systems
  • Well-versed in HTML, CSS, Javascript and AJAX.
  • Good knowledge of standards compliant code
  • Experience with web services XML/API
  • An understanding of Web 2.0 design trends, styles and technologies
  • A high level of skill and experience with layouts and front-end design using Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with cross-browser compatibility including Internet Explorer rendering issues and solutions
  • High level of attention to detail

  • Must have a passion for and participate in all things online
  • Able to multi-task in a demanding environment
  • Knowledge of semantic HTML and experience implementing search engine optimization techniques
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
